Amitabh Bachchan, the Shehanshah of bollywood who is hosting the third season of reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ on a television channel, will be honored on the eve of his 67th birthday by forty actors playing Big B in front of him.

All of the forty actors are big time fan of the legendary personality and will enact forty different characters from Amitabh  Bachchan’s flicks ranging from his first flick ‘Saat Hindustani’ in 1969 to ‘Zanzeer’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Amar, Akbar Anthony’, ‘Black’ to Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Sarkar’.

These forty actors will be paying tribute to Amitabh Bachchan’s 40 –years-long bollywood career during which he enacted all sort of characters on the celluloid. Sources say that the actors will dress and mouth famous dialogues delivered by Big B in his super hit flicks during his illustrious career.

Though ostensibly the function will be organized tonight to promote Big B’s upcoming flick ‘Rann’, but the real purpose is to present the living legend of bollywood with a surprise on the eve of his 67th birthday. Big B has been invited to the event, which is being held at a suburban theatre, on the pretext of attending a promotional event for ‘Rann’.

Sources say that the homage to Big B by forty different actors was the brain child of ‘Raan’ co-producer Sheetal Talwar. The producer wanted to honor Big B for his professional integrity and commitment to the cause of cinema in India on the occasion of 67th birthday.

But the problem was that Amitabh Bachchan would never have agreed to such an ostentatious event to celebrate his birthday, and so the producer of his upcoming flick took this route of surprising him during the promotional event of his upcoming flick ‘Rann’.

The craze for Big B can be gauzed from the fact that once the producers spread word that they wanted forty actors who could enact Big B’s characters in front of him, they were flooded with innumerable applications.

Finally, they had to disappoint many candidates and select only forty, as they wanted to highlight the fact of Big B completing his 40 year stint as an actor in Bollywood.
